Col (Retd) Sultan Surkhro Awan son of Malik Noor Khan was born on April 18, 1943 at Chakwal. He was commissioned in Pakistan Army and graduated from Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul in 1965; and participated in the Indo-Pak Wars of 1965 and 1971. He served as Member, District Council, Chakwal during 1998-99. He has been elected as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections 2002 as an independent candidate. He served as Parliamentary Secretary from October 8, 2003 to September 13, 2005.
