Here I was about to write of Karachi – the title floating in my mind “How Stalin would have resolved the situation”, standing up against a wall the entire Karachi administration and not a few of its political leaders – and here something has occurred in Chakwal to claim my flitting attention. CHAKWAL, April 7: The Tehsil Municipal Administration is all set to increase tariffs on different services. Water, parking, security of shops and bus stand fees are likely to be raised by 100 per cent. In a public notice, the TMA said to meet the expenses it had decided to revise the tariff rates. Tehsil Municipal Officer Qammar Zeeshan said there was a sharp disparity between the income and expenditure of the civic body. “We provide services to the people on the basis of ‘no profit no loss’ but we are bearing a big loss as the services we provide to the masses cost more than 10 million compared to the income which is less than 0.4 million,” he said. A sub-committee has been set up in this regard to which objections can be submitted by April 14. After hearing the objections till April 16, the committee will send its recommendations in to the higher authorities. Talat Hussain was born in journalist family.His family is basically from a village “Sarkaal“,district Chakwal. On the 30th of May 2010, Hussain was aboard the convoy amid conflict during the Gaza flotilla raid. Due to loss of communications, Hussain’s status and whereabouts were unknown for a while, and a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Pakistan) stated “the Government of Pakistan is seriously concerned over the well-being and whereabouts of the Pakistani citizens and media personnel including Syed Talat Hussain and Raza Mahmood Agha (both of them from AAJ Television) who were on board the Flotilla bound for Gaza.
